    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Open
    • Priority: Medium
    • Resolution: Unresolved
    • Affects Version/s: Release 4.0.0
    • Fix Version/s: None
    • Component/s: Usability
    • Environment:

      Appcelerator Studio, build:
      Appc CLI NPM: 0.3.52
      Appc CLI Registry: 0.2.274
      Arrow: 0.3.200
      SDK: 4.0.0.RC
      Node: v0.10.36
      OS: Yosemite (10.10.3)

Details: Intermittently, if you leave Appc Studio idle for some time (for my case, at least 20 minutes), then Appc Studio will crash with "EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGABRT)".

Notes: Was not able to obtain the jstack for this bug, but if others run into this issue, please try the following:

      1. Open a command prompt.
      2. Type jps -v shows you a list of jvm process ids. You should see one referencing Eclipse.
      3. Type jstack <pid> >> logfile.log to dump the stack trace for the specified VM process id.

      From https://wiki.appcelerator.org/display/guides2/Crashes+and+Freezes

      Possible steps to reproduce:

      1. Update Appc Studio to latest build
      2. Allow Appc Studio to restart after update
      3. Leave Appc Studio idle for at least 20 minutes

Actual: Appc Studio will suddenly crash with:

      Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGABRT)
      Exception Codes: EXC_I386_GPFLT

See attachment of crash log from Apple.

Expected: Appc Studio should not crash after left idling.
