      Description

      Steps to Reproduce

Updated Aptana Studio 3 to new version.

Note: Trying to install Pydev using the instructions here: http://download.appcelerator.com/aptana/studio3/pydev/update/stable/ gives the message that 'pydev is already installed'. But Pydev functionality is still not available, and the Preferences menu does not list Pydev.

Reverting to Aptana Studio v3.4.1 restores the Pydev functionality.

      Actual Result

Afterward update of Aptana Studio 3, Pydev isn't installed and can't be reinstalled.

      Expected Result

Should be seamless, with no steps needed to reinstall Pydev or make sure it isn't clobbered by update.

Bart Mosley From the logs, it looks like you're trying to install PyDev 3.1.0 over top and Studio already has 3.0.0 installed/bundled. You should already have PyDev functionality. If you want to upgrade, be sure to upgrade Studio itself and it should contain the latest PyDev packaged in.

Hmm, still didn't work after making everything in Pydev 1.6 compatible. Re-opening.

Found the cause to be PyDev having plugins that required JRE 1.7. Pushed the fix, and it will be available in the next update.

I'm having this issue as well, and it's in the critical path. Is there a workaround prior to the next release? Or, when is the next update scheduled?
