JavaScript Editor Reports Syntax Error Conditionally Based On Content Addition Order

    Details

    • Type: Bug
    • Status: Closed
    • Priority: Medium
    • Resolution: Duplicate
    • Affects Version/s: Aptana Studio 3.0.7
    • Fix Version/s: None
    • Component/s: JS
    • Labels:
    • Environment:

      Aptana Studio 3, build: 3.0.7.201112281312
      Virtual Machine with Windows XP

      Description

Entering "..;" in the JavaScript editor will cause a syntax error, but entering the ";" then prepending with ".." produces no error.

      Steps to Replicate :

      1) Open Aptana Studio
      2) Open an empty JavaScript file
      3) Enter "..;" and note the syntax error to the left
      4) Delete the entry from Step 3 and enter ";" then prepend this with ".."

      Actual Results :

The editor does not report a syntax error after Step 4. This is likely because ".." prompts the editor to open Content Assist.

      Expected Results :

Syntax validation should not be contingent upon the order in which the content is added.
